About Dr. Summer Ott:

Dr. Summer Ott's journey to becoming a veterinarian was fueled by her passion for animals and her desire to bridge language barriers in veterinary medicine. With a diverse background in mixed-animal practice and a specialization in small animal emergency medicine and surgery, Dr. Ott is dedicated to providing high-quality care to animals and their families during their times of greatest need.

Education and Professional Background:

Dr. Summer Ott's love for animals blossomed during her upbringing in Seattle, Washington. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the Honors College at Washington State University, earning a degree in Animal Science with a minor in Spanish. Dr. Ott continued her education at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she further honed her skills and knowledge in veterinary medicine.

During her time in veterinary school, Dr. Ott was actively involved in research projects aimed at promoting pain management in dairy cattle. Additionally, she served as a Spanish translator for dairy farms, facilitating effective bilingual communication between veterinarians and farm workers.

Professional Experience:

After graduating from veterinary school in 2022, Dr. Ott embarked on a career as a mixed-animal veterinarian, caring for a wide range of patients including cattle, goats, dogs, and cats. However, it was her experiences in small animal emergency medicine and surgery that ignited her passion for providing critical care to animals in urgent situations.

Dr. Ott later joined the team at H3, where she found fulfillment in working with both the general practice and urgent care medical teams. As an active member of the H3 Spanish-speaking team, Dr. Ott is dedicated to breaking down language barriers to ensure all pet owners receive the care and support they need.

Personal Interests and Hobbies:

Outside of her veterinary practice, Dr. Summer Ott finds joy in exploring the great outdoors. She particularly enjoys backpacking adventures with her husband and spending time stand-up paddleboarding with her beloved cats and dogs. Dr. Ott's love for nature and outdoor activities serves as a source of inspiration and rejuvenation, allowing her to approach her professional endeavors with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
