Position Title: Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Wage: $25-$35/hour including commission


About the Role:
We're seeking a Lead Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of daily activities within our clinic. As a Lead LVT, you’ll balance hands-on patient care with administrative responsibilities, provide leadership to our veterinary technicians and support staff, and deliver exceptional care to our patients. This role requires excellent client communication, strong organizational skills, and a passion for mentorship.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Excellence:
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clinic protocols.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of patient care.
- Oversee staff assignments to optimize clinic workflow and ensure efficiency.

2. Team Leadership:
- Support veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with open communication.
- Conduct daily huddles to address concerns and share updates.
- Maintain a professional, respectful work environment by addressing negative talk or gossip.
- Ensure team members take proper breaks and that opening/closing tasks are completed.

3. Client Interaction:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Assist in resolving client issues and escalate to management when necessary.

4. Management Communication:
- Identify and communicate areas for improvement in clinic processes to management.
- Document and report situations to management as needed.
- Actively participate in weekly management meetings to address clinic needs and concerns.

5. Staff Training & Development:
- Train and onboard new staff, including a 1-week shadowing and 1-week reverse shadowing program.
- Conduct LVT Check-Ins at 30, 60, and 90 days for new hires and document progress.
- Conduct quarterly LVT reviews to document progress and goals.
- Assist with Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and disciplinary actions.

6. Scheduling & Communication:
- Create and finalize the clinic’s monthly schedule 30 days in advance.
- Communicate any schedule changes or callouts daily, coordinating with Rachel before 7 am.
- Act as the primary point of contact for scheduling issues, ensuring staff are informed promptly.

7. Professionalism:
- Lead by example in professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Minimize personal phone use and handle personal matters outside clinic hours.
- Uphold the clinic’s core values in all interactions.

8. Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in interviews, shadow shifts, and hiring decisions for medical staff.
- Conduct weekly team reviews to evaluate progress and address concerns.
- Facilitate Veterinary Medication Clerk licenses as needed.


Requirements:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Washington.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an LVT.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continued education and skill expansion.

Work Schedule:
- Weekly Hours: 38-40 hours.
- 2 management shifts per week.
- 1 Urgent Care (UC) shift and 1 General Practice (GP) shift per week.
- 6 hours of remote work available.
- Scheduling: Must ensure the monthly schedule is completed 30 days in advance.
- Leadership Shifts: Provide coverage and fill in for Floor Leads when needed.
